Working Group 1
Implementing climate resilience measures in industry
Climate change and its consequences are expected to pose risks to business operations and companies’ assets. Therefore, the manufacturing industries in developing countries and emerging economies, especially those exposed to climate change, have to consider climate risks in their operations. However, insufficient policy incentives, lack of capacity and funding hinder private investments in climate adaptation. In this regard, governments have a role to play in establishing enabling regulatory frameworks to overcome barriers for private investments in climate resilience measures in local industries.
The working group aims to explore policy options and develop solutions for the establishment of climate-resilient value chains with a special focus on local industries in developing countries and emerging economies.
